Atik 383L+ OSC-No Color
« on: November 12, 2012, 08:10:42 pm »
I use CCD Stack 2 for stacking, aligning. The problem I'm having is I cannot get decent color images. When I attempt to convert to color, the colors are way off or no color at all. Does anyone have a work flow or any suggestions...............I'm out of ideas??

This is not at all unusual so dont worry. My RGB combinations are normally a wild pink.

Whatever programme you use you need to find out how to colour calibrate the RGB image. This will tend to make it very washed out colourwise. Somewhere in the processing you will need to boost saturation.

Processing is as large a part of it as aquisition.

Thanks for the reply. Have you tried the Artemis RGB? If so how do you brighten the image enough to see the color, I adjusted it to the max, which is 400 but that is not enough to see.

Sorry but I dont use Artemis RGB but looking at that it only adjusts the brightness of the image not the saturation. Pull the output from CCDStack into Photoshop or similar which has the tools for the job.
