NGC 5395 ("The Heron Galaxy")
« on: April 14, 2019, 04:45:10 PM »
Hi all,

In the last days the conditions for astrophotography were very good (SQM 19.2 , FWHM 2.8 by Infinity software, relative humidity 47%).
NGC 5395 and 5394, together known as Arp 84, are two interacting galaxies located just over 160 million light-years away from Earth in the small northern constellation of Canes Venatici. Together they are known as The Heron for their  photographic resemblance to that water bird.
I have stacked 53 frames of 15 sec. from Infinity software.

C & C are welcome.

Greetings, Klaus

Very nice Klaus! What scope are you using?

Yes, very nice. A perfect crane.

FWHM below 3 is awesome. Rarely see this in my city.
Keep looking up!

@ Craig &@ Sirius 19

Thanks for watching and the nice comment.

My scope is an old Meade 200 LX 8", working with a 0.6 Meade reducer.

We sometimes have an omega weather situation over northern Germany. This usually means a laminar current at higher altitudes and therefore a good astronomical seeing.( See attachment)

Do you know exactly how Atik calculates the FWHM - value with their software ?

Greetings
