314l & EFW Power supply
« on: March 23, 2013, 07:54:49 AM »
Hi...
I'm considering purchasing a 13.8v power supply from Maplins, so I can power a range of equipment in my obsy. I was considing this one here;
http://www.maplin.co.uk/13.8v-regulated-mains-power-units-231

Would it be safe to power the Atik 314L+ and the Atik EFW (this is the older style EFW), both of which are rated at 12v? .... I've seen some other threads indicating for instance that the 383 is ok with 13.8v, but nothing specifically relating to the 314.

TIA....

Hi;

normally the platform 3 cameras should all behave the same way... It should be confirmed by the Staff.
I also did some research on this and I found out the following:

So, for me; there should be no problem powering the 314 with 13.8V...

Hopefully this could help!

Have CCD fun under clear skies!

Best

You are welcome;

I think you can go for it; I am running a 13.8V with my 383 to and everything is just fine.
Probably it will be the same with your 314; all devices should have a working margin of a certain voltage..
For being sure it would be better to ask the staff  ;)
