IC 1805 The Heart Nebula
« on: October 27, 2020, 10:06:30 AM »
Hi All!

Posting a 1:30 minute composite of this DSO processed in StarTools. I just started working with this program and I think it potentially offers a better final result than my previous program, Nebulosity. However, it really likes to start with clean, linear data and even specifies what settings should be used in Deep Sky Stacker. So, I'll have to up my imaging skills a bit to make the most of it!

Atik Horizon mono, Baader Ha and OIII filters, HOO palatte, 60 sec unguided subs on a iOptron CEM40EC mount.

The Heart and Soul region is barely visible in small telescopes and best seen photographically. It is a popular target for astrophotographers. The brightest part of the Heart Nebula has the designation NGC 896 in the New General Catalogue
