383L+OSC NGC 7023 Iris Nebula
« on: January 05, 2012, 01:54:45 am »
This image is a combination of 25 X 5 min exposures on one night and 25 X 5 minute exposures on the next night. All images were taken with Artemis Capture and processed with ImagesPlus. The telescope used was a Televue 85 with the Televue focal reducer/field flattener.

The imaging was done on October 1st and 2nd 2011 at the Illinois Dark Skies Star Party near Petersburg, IL USA.  I wanted to try combining images from two different nights and used the reticle display in Capture to get the plates as close as possible.

The original image is much larger, had to crop to fit the 600KB attach size.

Joseph,

Nice image, all tough i would recommend to stretch the background less heavier..
There is a lot of signal that got lost because of this heavy stretch, the cloudy area has disappeared..

Best
