ATIK 320E ASCOM -- Confused...
« on: August 31, 2012, 08:52:36 PM »
Hi all..

I downloaded and installed the ATIK software (including Capture, etc.) even though I've had it installed for a long time. The ATIK web page said that doing so would install an ASCOM driver as well.

My camera control software (TheSky Camera Add-On) is configured to support an ASCOM camera. There's a software shim that sits between TheSky and ASCOM that translates between a Bisque proprietary protocol (x2) and ASCOM.

I don't have my camera with me at the moment, but, while I can select an ASCOM camera in TheSky, I don't see the ATIK camera as an available camera in the list of ASCOM cameras available. All I see are camera simulators.

How do I know if the ASCOM driver is installed for the ATIK camera? Maybe when the camera is connected to the PC it'll show up as a camera to be selected. True?

Thanks

..Bill

Did you install ASCOM Platform 6SP1 from:

http://ascom-standards.org/

You need to install this first before installing Atik ASCOM camera driver.

Thanks for your reply...  I found the driver on the ATIK web site. I was looking at the wrong place. :-(

Now... to try it in the field.
