Image Processing Software
« on: March 28, 2012, 05:18:21 pm »
I have just purchased a 383L+Color camera and would like to know which processing software would anyone recommend for calibration, alignment, stacking. I see that Astroart and Maxim are listed. Maxim is out of my budget range for now, so I was wondering if anyone knows of or is using something different. I'm new to CCD imaging so I could use all the help I can get.

Thanks,

Mark

For pure processing (acquisition would be done with Artemis Capture), you should get PixInsight.

Hi,

I agree with Kaidan, Capture and PixInsight are a good choice!
I started with a trial version of Maxim, went to Capture, then Artemis and finally back to Maxim DL!
Last one is the completest one, then comes AA5 ( but not so clear of use)
I wanted a soft capable of controlling everything, so my choice!

CGEM, C11, TS Carbon Apo Triplet 90/600, TS Carbon UNC 254/1250, Atik 383l+, EFW2,
TSOAG, Lodestar....

Capture and Pixinsight here too. If you want a cheaper option then Nebulosity works well.
