Good beginner targets for Atik 4000 Mono
« on: April 30, 2014, 11:07:35 PM »
Hi guys! I bought my first CCD two weeks ago and it's an Atik 4000 Mono. I also just registered to this forum.

As i am waiting for the skies to clear, can you give me any suggestions as to which targets are good and easy to test the new camera. I have LRGB filters and an Ha filter. Maybe it's better to start shooting just mono images to get acquainted with the camera, i don't know.

The camera is attached to a SW Equinox 120mm.

Thanks!

As boring as it may sound I would try a globular cluster such as M13, M92, or M3 just till you get a hang on the focusing. Then move on to the more extended objects.
Clear Skies!!
