Hi,

A friend of mine has cut out a circle with the diameter +2 cm of the scope with a centerhole with the diameter of the hyperstar. To get it lighttight he used windowjoints and small aluminum T Profiles...

The cercle looks like a horseshoe and the open part is simply cut out and placed back when taking darks...

Hope this helps...

I never use Hyperstar but you can take darks anywhere and anytime besides outdoors.

1) Remove the camera from scope and place the camera in a dark area like closet inside the house. Cover the camera with the supplied nose piece and cap.

2) If you perfer not to remove the camera from the scope, then remove the scope/camera from the mount and place it in a dark area like closet. Cover the scope/camera with dark blankets or plastic sheets.

Wait a wile before popping camera inside.
Its dark and the tec wont have to work as hard  ;)

Putting it in the freezer is not my recomendation...

if you remove the camera it negates the purpose of taking darks, which is to remove dust bunnies ect from the visual path

And if the camera rotated in the slightest, again the same issue.
